OGG to text — drop the whole WhatsApp export and get every voice file written out.
OGG is the container WhatsApp voice notes travel in. Upload the .zip as it came off your phone and each file comes back as text, in order, on the chat timeline.
How it works
Export the WhatsApp chat with media. Voice files arrive as .ogg or .opus, usually named PTT-YYYYMMDD-WAXXXX.
Upload the .zip whole. Every OGG file inside is found and transcribed — no unzipping, renaming or converting first.
Read the transcripts in the timeline, then run a summary for the decisions, dates and action items inside them.
What you get
OGG in, readable text out — with the chat around it kept intact.
OGG, OPUS, and why WhatsApp uses both names
They are not two different things, which is why one upload handles both.
- •OGG is a container — a wrapper that holds audio. OPUS is the codec, the compression inside the wrapper. A WhatsApp voice note is usually OPUS audio in an OGG container, so the same file is correctly called both.
- •Which extension you see depends on the phone and the export. Some exports write .ogg, others write .opus, and a few arrive as .m4a — the recording is the same either way.
- •Whichever name your export used, the file is read the same way — and its real length is measured from the audio itself rather than guessed from the file size, so what you are quoted matches what you actually have.
Every voice file in one pass
Long chats hold hundreds of them.
Upload the full export and every OGG voice file is transcribed in order and merged into the message timeline, so a spoken reply reads in its place instead of sitting in a folder. Then run General Summary or Meeting Recap to pull out what was agreed — you never listen back through the audio to find it.
Key benefits
Use cases
Work voice notes — client updates, instructions and project syncs, in writing
Disputes — a spoken agreement quoted with the date it was recorded (voice notes as evidence)
Personal — months of long voice threads turned into something searchable
