Spoken promises count — if you can produce them
A commitment made in a voice message carries the same weight as a written one in many jurisdictions. The obstacle is practical, not legal: nobody can review an audio file the way they review a document.
A transcript is readable, an audio file is not
Lawyers, HR departments and small-claims clerks work from documents. A written transcript with timestamps can be read, quoted, searched and attached to a filing. A folder of .opus files cannot.
Contradictions only show on a timeline
One voice message proves little. The same person saying two different things five weeks apart, with both dates on the record, is the thing that settles an argument.
Memory of a recording is not evidence of it
