Before you print
For a text-only chat, the free reader does the whole job.
Four ways to print
None of them needs an app installed. What changes is what reaches the paper.
- The free reader's PDF: page numbers, the chat's name at the top, and the date and time on every message. The chat is read in your browser and never sent to a server.
- The export's .txt file in a text editor: it prints, but as one running block with no page numbers.
- Screenshots: fine for a few messages. A long chat turns into dozens of sheets, and it is easy to skip or repeat a stretch.
- WhatsApp Web: it prints what you select on screen. For a long chat, you have to scroll back to the start first.
What does not reach the paper
A sheet cannot play audio, and the export carries each voice message as a separate file.
In an ordinary printout, each voice message is only a file name, and what was said is left out. The paid analysis writes each one where it was sent.
In the free PDF, each photo and video is marked where it was sent. The images themselves stay on your device.
A printed chat does not prove it was never edited. No tool can prove that from an export, so keep the original .zip and the chat on the phone.
